Not only that, but the parents of these teenagers in this book are still barely involved in the kids lives, and the parents who are (Matthew, in this case) are comfortable with these kinds of decisions made by those he considers his own children. I realize it's "normal" in the high school era to be tempted by things like this, but these books do not hold back, which is why I am surprised they are YA (even if they are based in high school). There is a fair amount of sex (talk AND participation), some drinking and skipping school. This of course leads to a few steam-y scenes that sucks you in and leaves you wishing you had one (or two) Daemon Blacks in your life.Īll of you Twilight and The Hunger Games fans, this next series is for you!Īll opinions are my own and are not endorsed or affiliated with any company or organization.Parents, be warned!! This book series constantly involves kids going behind parents backs and participate in sex, drinking and even skipping classes. Daemon’s and Katy’s relationship picks up heat and the two finally are able to accept their feelings for one another. Romantically speaking, this book is a hit. Setting it up to be a stepping stone to, I believe, a much larger story that will unfold in the fourth installment, Origin. Opal opened a larger door to a world of unknowns and flooded my mind with a league of questions. The humor and the romance between Katy and Daemon are what really kept me invested in the series. The first of the two in the series, Obsedian and Onyx, moved at a rather slow pace for my taste. Each book is better than the last and the plot is finally thickening! I am late on the train with the Lux Series, but after finishing book three, Opal, there is no stopping until the end. Together we’re stronger… and they know it.

Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I’m capable.

I’m different… And I’m not sure what that will mean in the end. Doubting him isn’t something I’ll do again, and now that we’ve made it through the rough patches, well… There’s a lot of spontaneous combustion going on.īut even he can’t protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they love.Īfter everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. When he set out to prove his feelings for me, he wasn’t fooling around. The Lux series continues with the third installment of this riveting paranormal YA series.
